2008 What we did… June was a lot of fun, with our annual Father’s Day Dance and Brunch. The big news from June was the AANR-FL Convention, which we hosted and had a fantastic turnout! Between all the pool parties, barbecues and luaus, and the craft fair, Gulf Coast Resort is growing and becoming “The” place to be. We received a large number of compliments and we’d like to thank everyone who helped us pull it off! The Convention was very well attended, in spite of the deluge of rain over most of the weekend. That’s one advantage of being nudists … our clothes don’t get wet in the rain! The Gulf Coast Chapter of Bare Buns Bikers held their first tent event during the convention. PANDA also set up a booth, as did Single Nudists and Paradise Lions. Karen and Barney E. were awarded “Family of the Year,” Tina B. won “Woman of the Year” and Chuck Foster posthumously won “Man of the Year” by AANR-FL. Elections were held, and our new AANR-FL officers are Hugh Williams as President, Walt Zadanoff as VP. Directors voted in are Ed Feder, Carol Longman, Dave Lombardi, Ken Meyer, Rene Niquette and Wayne Vann. What we’re doing… Come and join us at the pool bar on July 4, for a 5:00 BBQ Pork Sandwich dinner, for only $5.00. Then stick around for a casual “party” at the pool. We’ll be pulling out the ol’ boom box, so bring your favorite CDs. Our Independence Day dance is on July 5, with Jim, but before the dance, we’ll be serving up a Steak Dinner. Tickets must be purchased in advance, by July 3. Join Tony B. on July 6 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, poolside, for even more Independence Weekend fun! That includes great ribs served up by George & Kay at the pool bar. Nude Recreation Week is July 7-12. This annual event gives first-timers the opportunity to give nudism a try. Here at GCR, we will be welcoming newbies with free admission. Our second dance of the month is 7/19, with Denny, followed by the Car Cruise-In on 7/20 What’s coming up… August may be hot, but we have plenty of ways for you to cool off! We kick off the month with our Birthday Baby Dance on August 2. Woodstock Weekend includes our Woodstock Dance on August 16, and the Car Cruise-In on 8/17. Labor Day Weekend begins on August 30, with our Labor Day Dance, hosted by Tony B. Sunday, August 31, join us for live music at the pool (and, of course, George and Kay’s incredible food at the pool bar). And what would Labor Day be without our Annual Seafood Feast? Join us September 1 to pig out on some incredible food! Best wishes… Kathy A. and Ann S. both underwent surgery in June. We’re sending you both big hugs for a speedy recovery. AANR/AANR-FL/WINR … The WINR luncheon is on July 8 at Gulf Coast Resort. Go-Go Chicks Red Hat News… Our Red Hat ladies’ monthly event is on July 10. Keep your eye on the bulletin boards for details. By the way… Very soon, we will all begin to replace our old, analog TVs with digital versions. Therefore, as much as we appreciate your generosity, we are only accepting donations of digital TVs. Show Palace 2009 Mark your calendars for next year’s Show Palace event. We are planning to see The Producers on February 1, 2009. |
