East Road has been PAVED !

From Tampa Take I-75 north to Hwy. 52 exit west to US Hwy. 41. Go north on US Hwy. 41 to County Line Road (Route 578) turn left (west). Take County Line Road for 8.5 miles to the yellow flashing light (East Road) and turn left (south). Go approximately 2 miles. Look for the Gulf Coast Resort sign on the left hand side of the road. Turn left onto Houston Ave. up to the gate.

From Tampa airport First, you'll be taking a toll road so make sure you have about $5 cash on you. The drive is almost exactly one hour from the airport to our gate. Here is a link to a Yahoo map, with driving directions from the airport.

When we last checked them they were accurate. One thing to keep in mind, since you're not familiar with the route, is that when you come out of the airport the exit marked FL-589 NORTH toward FL-60 WEST is almost immediate and easy to miss if you're not looking for it. Be sure to stay to the right as you come out of the airport and you'll be fine. Also, once on 589, stay on it until you get off on 52. The directions are kind of vague in that regard (it's hard to tell if you should be on 589 or 60, the way they word it).

There is one change you should probably make in the directions, if you'll be driving at night or if you wish to avoid a dirt road. The last part of the trip, as the directions show it, is on a dark road, and the turns may be hard to see. So, instead of turning on to Peace Blvd., as the directions tell you to do, keep driving a few more miles until you get to County Line Road. There is a traffic light there, with a Walgreen's drug store on the corner. Turn left at that light and drive for a few more miles until you see a flashing yellow traffic light. This is East Road. Turn left onto East and drive another couple miles or so. You'll see the sign for the resort on the left side of the road. If East Road turns to dirt, you've driven too far.

Once you turn into our driveway at the sign (the driveway is a dirt road, too) just drive a little ways up and around the corner. You'll see the gate ahead of you. If the gate is open, come on in and up to the office (it's a big blue building, about 800 feet past the entrance). If the gate is closed, please use the intercom to call for entrance.

From Georgia Take I-75 South to US Hwy. 50. Go west on US Hwy. 50 to US Hwy. 19. Go south on US Hwy. 19 to County Line Road (Route 578) and turn left (east). Take County Line road to flashing light, turn right (south) Go approximately 2 miles. Look for the Gulf Coast Resort sign on the left hand side of the road. Turn left onto Houston Ave. up to the gate.

From Clearwater Go north on US Hwy. 19 to County Line Road (Route 578) and turn right (east). Take County Line road to flashing light, turn right (south) Go approximately 2 miles. Look for the Gulf Coast Resort sign on the left hand side of the road. Turn left onto Houston Ave. up to the gate.
